  • Child Friendly Space opening ceremony was held

    Official launch of child friendly spaces at the Investigation and Criminal Department of the National Police Agency were held today. A child-friendly room is a space that provides comfort and safety and it creates a possibility to receive required protection, assistance and timely services for preventing child witnesses or victims from being re-traumatized and becoming a secondary victim during the investigative actions such as gathering evidence from witnesses through conducting interviews.

    The United States of America and the Government of Mongolia have signed the Child Protection Compact (CPC) Partnership in 2020. Within the frame of the partnership agreement, according to the CPC project implemented by World Vision Mongolia and the Asia Foundation, it has planned to establish total of 5 child friendly spaces at police stations and in previous years the spaces were established at the Investigation Department of Metropolitan Police, Division #1 of Songinokhairkhan District’s Police and Division #2 of Khan-Uul District’s Police. In 2022, 2 spaces were newly established at Investigation’s Department of National Police Agency and Criminal Police Department. Under the Child Protection Compact Partnership between The United States of America and Mongolia (2020-2024), the child friendly spaces are being established with the total funding of 300 million MNT at 5 different police stations.

    The launch ceremony was held at the child friendly space at Investigation’s Department of National Police Agency. Sainzorig P., State Secretary of Minister of Justice and Home affairs, Mongolia; Uzra Zeya, U.S. State Undersecretary for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights and the Special assistants; Richard Buangan, the U.S Ambassador to Mongolia; Nyam-Ochir Ts. Brigadier General and First Deputy Director of National Police Agency; Ulziikhutag N., Chairperson (OIC) for Family, Child and Youth Development Agency,  Bayarmaa N. Head of Family Policy Implementation Department of Ministry of Labor and Social Protection; Bolortsetseg B. National Director of World Vision Mongolia, Asia Foundation representatives and other relevant project staff attended the opening ceremony.
