  • Community Engagement Sponsorship Specialist for Bayangol Area Program

    The Community Engagement Sponsorship Specialist provides specialized support to the implementation of Sponsorship operations within the area program. The position supports the Area program manager in ensuring Sponsorship is well integrated within the area program ensuring the accurate and timely processing of correspondence and monitoring of child well-being outcomes for all Registered Children.


    Community Engagement Sponsorship Education

    • Participates in sponsorship education processes and contributes as needed
    • Develops and provides technical input on sponsorship messaging
    • Maintains inventory of sponsorship communications materials
    • Provides technical input on sponsorship aspects of community engagement
    • Facilitate in community engagement and capacity building efforts of partners and community groups
    • Supports Development Facilitator to coordinate specific needs of  sponsorship communications at critical points – meeting with parents

    Designing integrated activities with children

    • Provides subject matter expertise for integration of sponsorship requirements with development process and child participation
    • Coordinates Integrated Activity Plan to link sponsorship requirements with project or other activities


    • Provides coordination and support to ensure Child Monitoring Standards are met
    • Supports the establishment of monitoring processes and system through Child Protection  committee including volunteer arrangements
    • Coordinates Integrated monitoring plan and its implementation
    • Coordinates information management – Data quality, data entry, monitoring, tracking, exception reports, follow-up reports
    • Coordinates the incorporation of Child
    • Protection standards in sponsorship processes
    • Work closely with the Development Facilitator to ensure Child Monitoring Standards is integrated well as a part of community led child protection mechanisms
    • Ensures that STEP data is made available on a regular basis for staff/partners review and decision making

    Sponsorship Communications

    • Ensures sponsor communications activities are designed in such way so as to contribute to life skills and development assets of children
    • Coordination of design, development of communication materials, quality assurance and administration (including postage)
    • Coordinates information management, data quality, data entry, monitoring, tracking, exception reports, follow-up reports

    Program team support and development

    • Engage in own personal learning and development and spiritual maturity and contribute to the development of colleagues
    • Contribute to ongoing reflection and learning within the team to improve program performance



    • University (bachelor) degree in Social science and development field


    • 3 years of experience in community engagement work and managing child sponsorship
    • Previous relevant experience, including at least one year of working in and with communities
    • Experience  with  Sponsorship  activities,  program  planning, implementation and monitoring
    • Experience with faith, community based and child focused Empowerment programs

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • Strong understanding of community-led development work
    • Creative  and  able  to  apply  innovative  thinking,  partnership building and problem solving skills;
    • Strong facilitation skills, including catalyzing, connecting, and building the capacity of community groups
    • Good analytical and writing skills; Basic understanding of design, monitoring, and evaluation
    • Good interpersonal skills and cross-cultural sensitivity, abilities to work as a team.
    • Effective in English and Mongolian written and oral communication.
    • Computer literacy; Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint

    Work Environment

    • Willingness to be flexible with hours when necessary and able to travel often in the field (50% of the time)
