With nearly half of Mongolia’s population—approximately 1.7 million people—living in Ulaanbaatar, urbanization challenges are intensifying. The Urban Development Forum 2024 brought together experts, policymakers, and organizations to address these issues and chart a course toward sustainable, livable, and modern urban environments across Mongolia.

Co-hosted by the Ministry of Urban Development, UN-Habitat, and the World Health Organization, the forum tackled critical challenges such as climate resilience, urban sprawl, and infrastructure gaps. It provided a platform to share international best practices and propose innovative strategies for urban growth.

World Vision International Mongolia (WVIM) actively participated in the forum, showcasing its "Ger Community Resilience" project. This initiative focuses on climate change mitigation and aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, highlighting WVIM's commitment to addressing urban issues and enhancing community resilience.

The event not only shaped comprehensive urban policies but also engaged the public through exhibitions, emphasizing the collective effort needed to build green, inclusive cities. This landmark forum marks a crucial step in transforming Mongolia’s urban future, ensuring thriving communities and sustainable development for generations to come.
