The Innovative Ger project is set to revolutionize housing for homeless and highly vulnerable families in Mongolia. With the goal of improving the quality of life for children, this two-year, two-month initiative (August 2024–September 2026) provides sustainable and safe housing solutions to those in need, fostering hope and confidence in the future.
The project goes beyond traditional housing by incorporating advanced features that prioritize sustainability, comfort, and environmental care. The inclusion of a heating and insulation CHIP package ensures both improved living conditions and reduced air pollution. Key features of the package include:
-Advanced ger heating solution: Three electric heaters strategically placed in the center of the ger provide consistent warmth during harsh winters.
-Hot and cold-water sink: A sink with running water for handwashing promotes hygiene and convenience.
-Dry technology toilet: Located inside the ger, this toilet system ensures sanitation and comfort while conserving water.
-Multipurpose entrance cabin: Designed to retain heat during winter, this cabin doubles as a greenhouse in summer, enabling families to grow vegetables and enhance their food security.
The project is expected to directly benefit 910 individuals across urban and rural areas. By addressing fundamental needs such as housing, hygiene, and food security, the Innovative Ger project significantly enhances the quality of life for children and their families. Its focus on sustainability not only provides immediate relief but also fosters long-term resilience.
This initiative reflects World Vision International Mongolia’s unwavering commitment to uplifting vulnerable communities through innovative, climate-conscious solutions.
