  • Head of Accounting and Control for Finance and Administration Department

    Purpose of the position: 

    This is a crucial role encompassing accounting, GAAP (Generally accepted accounting principles), financial reporting, budgeting, control compliance, FM (Financial management) policy compliance, grant management and its compliance as an accounting and control unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving commercial thinking which results in sound professional financial reporting, budgeting, proactive cash flow management, grant compliance, internal control, and internal and external audit implementation and sound decision making. This role will also serve as a focal point to anticipate and identify business unit financial needs and be champion in policy determination, procedure and process development as continuous improvement.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Contribute to the development of the Accounting and Control team’s long-term directions that are aligned with the organization’s strategic direction and business stakeholder needs and co-lead the team.
    • Leadership and management within the Accounting and Control unit
    • Provide technical support to the other departments and projects
    • Coordinate and Support for the proposal stage and budget development with GAM (Grant acquisition management) team ensuring Grant guidelines are followed

    Essential Qualification:                                                                                      

    • Diploma in Management, MBA or any related graduate degree
    • In-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practical knowledge of finance systems, internal controls, and procedures
    • In-depth knowledge of government laws and its implications especially on income tax and other financial laws;
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English;
    • At least 3-4 years of experience in leadership/management position;
