    Purpose of the position: Oversee the programmatic operations of the respective region and provide leadership and management support for strategic courses of action in Area programs and Grant-funded/relief programs or special projects. And would ensure that strong strategic and annual planning processes are in place aligned with national strategic objectives for efficient and effective implementation of programs/projects to achieve operational goals and objectives.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide leadership in the development of strategy, directions and key priorities of WVIM operation;
    •  Provide leadership and support to operations staff in planning for and developing APs in new areas, including selection and needs assessment, development of project designs, writing and submission of concept papers and project proposals.
    • Provide leadership in creating an annual operating plan of the Operations department;
    • Provide leadership in funding negotiations with support offices and other donors;
    • Establishing a strong relationship with WV support offices and donors funding Aps and grant/specific projects;
    • Support local sponsorship initiatives in collaboration with the National resource development team;
    • Ensure competent and motivated staff are hired and retained;
    • Support capacity development plan for staff and promote professional development through on the job coaching/training/stretch assignments, identification of learning and training needs and opportunities;
    • Advise, review and evaluate program budgets, operations funding expenditures and accomplishment of ministry objectives;
    • Field visit and regular interaction with families and communities that are the primary stakeholders of WVIM transformational development ministry;
    • The strategic approach is ensured through valuation/identification of new programmatic opportunities;

    Essential Qualifications, Skills & Competencies:

    • University degree in Social/Rural Development, Business Administration, Public Health, Economics or a related field;
    • Master’s degree in International Development;
    • Minimum 5 years of managerial experience in program/project development with a thorough understanding and experience of different Grants programs and donor agencies such as UN, EU, ADP, World bank rules and regulations;
    • Ability to lead a multi-cultural team with an empowering and outcome-oriented approach;
    • Strong project management and organization skills;
    • Excellent communication, persuasive writing, editing and presentation skills;
    • Strong strategic thinker;
    • Commitment to Ethos, Core Value and Mission statement of WVM;
