Small changes, big impact: Built concrete fence and a shed to prevent potential disasters

Established a concrete fence (in Zavkhan province) and a shed (in Bayankhongor province) in target areas of the "Disaster Anticipatory Action in Mongolia" (DAAM) project with joined financing of respective local governments to use in the case of sudden natural disasters, risks and even possible economic consequences in local communities to protect local households and their children.

Building the concrete fence will contain and protect grass, fodder, and food resources for more than 70,000 people of 24 soums of Zavkhan province, including more than 16,000 herders and 37,000 livestock to overcome any potential risks of disasters.
And the shed will be utilized to contain food, fodder, and grass for the use of 13,000 herder households and 70,000 livestock from 20 soums in Bayankhongor province as a source of protection to support rural livelihood.

The DAAM project is funded by the Aktion Deutschland Hilft, an alliance of renowned German aid organizations founded in 2001.
